ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jonathan Finck, a highly social, nonverbal young man living with profound autism, was introduced to art as a student in a school-to-life transition program. The innovative classroom was designed for art exploration in a socially engaging and inclusive environment, with educators trained to support students' independence and success.
Jonathan loves to paint and he does so like a performer and percussionist; drumming and tapping his art into existence, using his fingers and hands to shape and combine paint with other mediums. His creations are vibrant with colors, textures & shapes. They invite everyone to experience the concept of "pareidolia" - finding our own meaningful images in the random abstract forms.
Art for OHANA: Jonathan's art is a critical contribution to BUILDING OHANA. Proceeds support our mission to design, develop, and build OHANA VILLAGE - a broadly affordable, diverse and inclusive community of intentional neighboring in Spokane, Washington. Jonathan will thrive in this neighborhood where love lives alongside many others – families, retirees, professionals...anyone desiring to live as an intentional neighbor.
